World Cup Pootjebaden in Tuindorp Oostzaan

And what a season finale we have this year! The 2017 Pootjebaden World Cup.

On Wednesday 19 July, the Pierenbadje on the Plejadenplein in Tuindorp Oostzaan will be the scene of a very special record attempt: the World Pootjebaden. As many paddlers as possible will keep their feet under water for at least 10 minutes. The record attempt is successful if more than 1,000 people do so.

The record attempt is at 5 p.m., but already from 11 a.m. the party is around the paddling pool. At 11am, the day starts with a flea market. After the official opening at 2.30pm, you can join workshops and games.

Of course, Tuindorp's house orchestra Harmoniecorps Tuindorp will be present for a festive conclusion of the day.

Participate

To participate in the record attempt, buy a wristband for €1.00. The amount raised by the organisation will benefit the Brain Foundation.

The driving force behind the WK Pootjebaden is Christina Grootveld. Last year, she and a large group of seniors from Tuindorp Oostzaan participated in the World Championship Pootjebaden on Texel. She ensured that the WK Pootjebaden will now take place in Tuindorp Oostzaan. This did not escape the national media: Domien Verschuren interviewed Christina for 3FM and Heart of the Netherlands reported on the preparatory training.

So plenty of reasons to come to Plejadenplein on Wednesday 19 July: to put your feet in the water yourself for €1.00 per person or to encourage the paddlers.
